About Us

Established in 1908

The British Club is located in an iconic colonial era building dating from 1902, and retains a quiet and peaceful atmosphere – most of the time!

Centrally situated in Ciudad Jardin, next to the Ayuntamiento, we have our own car park for members and we maintain a programme of events throughout the year as well as a well stocked bar and a restaurant offering full meals or snacks as you prefer.

An ideal spot for meeting friends, business lunches or just to have a quiet drink in the bar.

USUAL OPENING HOURS:

Sunday and Monday – Closed
Tuesday to Friday – 1:00pm to 11:00pm
Saturday – 1:00pm to 5:00pm
We occasionally host events outside our regular hours, especially on weekends, in which case the Club will be open.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Traditional English tea every Friday from 4.30 to 7pm.

The club will be closed on December 31st, also January 1st and 3rd. We are OPEN on January 2nd.

Price Per Person: 20€

For club members a glass of house wine, beer, water or a soft drink is included. Don’t forget to show your membership card when ordering your menu.

Bar & Restaurant

Our bar is open from 1pm to 11pm Tuesday to Friday and 1pm to 5pm on Saturdays.

We stock draft and bottled beers, a variety of good quality wines and a range of spirits as well as the usual selection of soft drinks. We have a varied bar menu that changes daily.

Our 20€ three course lunch (16€ for starter and main, 13.50€ for main and dessert) is available until 3.30pm, and from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Please check out our menu. To avoid disappointment please try to book in advance.

Light snacks and afternoon tea are available either in the bar or the restaurant until 9.45pm. We can also do full lunches or evening meals tailored to your requirements at other times if booked in advance. Please feel free to contact us for further details.

Membership

Join us!!

Membership gives you full access to our private facilities and priority access to our popular events, also to our parking, and regular updates on what is on at the Club.

We also have reciprocal visiting arrangements with the National Liberal Club and the Royal Overseas League based in central London.

Membership is 39€ for single membership and 65€ for a joint membership. We also have a discounted rate for younger members, please contact us for further details

Quiz Night

Usually the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm, we test ourselves against our fiendish quizmasters on rounds as diverse as the origin of Las Palmas street names, classical music, current affairs and much much more. Something for everyone and prizes to be won too – come and join us. In English.

New for 2025 – due to popular demand we are starting a Spanish language version from October – watch this space!
