Talk 1: Olivia M. Stone – A traveller committed to the pre-Hispanic heritage of Gran Canaria. Presented by Dona Ma. Isabel Gonzalez Cruz of the Aula Internacional Anglo-Canaria of ULPGC.

Mª Isabel González Cruz is a Professor of English Language and Literature in the Department of Modern Languages, Translation and Interpreting at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where she teaches on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Modern Languages. She coordinates the Sociolinguistic and Sociocultural Studies Research Group and heads the Aula Internacional Anglo-Canaria, recently established by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation and Cooperation. She is the author of numerous publications on Anglo-Canarian relations, as well as on sociolinguistic and pragmatic aspects as applied to popular literature in English.
